Cover Break your heart
BREAK YOUR HEART
The light on the plain
is fading with the day
Rocks and stones,
broken bones, bursten clay
In the distant light
you can see the hills
fade away
So why did you
break your heart?
Did you not have enough
to care for in your life
Why did you break your heart?
It doesn’t seem right
You roam along, by yourself,
‘till the break of dawn
The water’s there,
you stop and stare –
and move on
Somewhere in your heart
there is a memory
of what’s gone
You – don’t – want –
your greyness to fade
Happiness, sweet caress,
throw it away
Every building is a tombstone -
so you say
